You are wondering why put CBD in coffee? Maybe you have read that CBD is for sleep or CBD is to make you calm and putting it with coffee doesn't make sense. This is a common question we get a lot. The answer is simple, it creates the perfect synergy with a clean cup of energy & calmness. Here is why.
CBD (cannabidiol oil) comes from the Hemp plant. The Hemp plant contains phytocannabinoids, the most common is CBD. In addition to CBD, there are other phytocannabinoids other naturally occurring compounds like vitamins, amino acids, antioxidants & minerals. CBD is known for its health benefits and commonly associated with anxiety, insomnia, & inflammation. It is a healthy compound that people supplement every day. Our founder is one of them.
“I realized that a lot of people were putting the oil in their coffee or morning tea. Oil and water don't mix. As a coffee connoisseur, I wanted to pair coffee with CBD to gain the benefits of the hemp plant and the coffee bean.” - Vincent
Kicco Koffie uses only CBD Isolate in the coffee. CBD Isolate is a purified crystalline powder of approximately 99% pure CBD. CBD isolate starts out as a full spectrum hemp extract and is then distilled to separate each cannabinoid. The choice for isolate was intentional, to add a supplement to a daily routine. Full & broad spectrum oils have different results for different people. CBD Isolate is a more targeted approach and designed to supplement your existing CBD intake.
Coffee is one of the most widely consumed beverages across the globe. It has been surrounded by controversy over its health implications for decades. Thankfully science has determined coffee is good for you. For starters, it is one of the most antioxidant rich beverages in the world (wine and tea are the others). Studies have shown that coffee has anti-inflammatory effects. In the most recent studies coffee may reduce the risk of major diseases like heart disease, diabetes, Parkinson’s, some cancers and liver disease.
So, coffee is great! But not all coffees are created equal.
Poor coffee farming and production can contain many toxins. This happens not with the green bean itself but in the storage, processing, & shipping. Toxins such as Ochratoxin A are toxic to the kidneys and is produced by mold found on green coffee beans. At Kicco, we put our coffee through rigorous testing including 25 different contaminants including 4 microbial tests to hold the highest standard of “clean coffee” in the industry.
Caffeine can have unwanted effects in the body such as jitters, upset stomach, & restlessness. The synergistic effects of adding CBD in the coffee prevents the jitters and restlessness while the caffeine in the coffee helps with the overall sedative nature of CBD. We call this being calm, caffeinated, and conscious. There are three strengths per bag. Our espresso has 10mg of CPD per pour, our entry strength coffee has 5mg per cup and our max strength has 12mg per cup. We find that you can achieve this synergy with any of the strengths though some prefer one over the other. Our CBD coffee is a great healthy morning ritual or afternoon pick me up.
