The Hemp We Use

For all of the coffee we make, we source our ingredients with quality top of mind. We use a tasteless, odorless water-soluble CBD isolate at different strengths for our different brew blends. In our Guatemalan blend, 1/2 ounce of coffee grounds (the recommended amount for a single cup) will contain roughly 5 mg of CBD per cup. Our Colombian blend comes in a bit stronger in CBD at roughly 12 mg per cup. This, of course, is contingent on how strong you prefer to brew your morning cup. To be clear, there is no detectable THC (or psychoactive effects thereof) from the CBD we use.

So what sets us apart in a hypersaturated CBD supply market?

Let’s start with a few distinguishing characteristics about the CBD we source for our coffee. Our CBD isolate is:

  • Organically grown in the U.S.
  • Non GMO
  • Pesticide, solvent, and metal free
  • GRAS and GMP certified
  • Processed in FDA approved facilities
  • 3rd party tested
  • Farm Bill compliant

That’s cool, but a lot of companies probably offer this...

There are indeed others out there, but the CBD we use takes it a step further with industry-leading processing techniques. Not all CBD isolates are made the same.

The labs that test our CBD specialize in water-soluble CBD spray dried products. The spray drying process is one of the many things that sets Kicco’s CBD apart from the competition. It turns out many naturally therapeutic compounds are available only in a stable crystalline form, so they often display poor aqueous solubility and low dissolution rates. Spray drying has the potential to open doors for new, important solutions that have previously been shelved due to low bioavailability (the ability of a substance to be absorbed and processed by the body to produce the desired effect).

So what? Why go through all this trouble?

An alternate processing method used in the industry is Nano Amplification. In this manufacturing practice, Nano-emulsified CBD is manufactured using an ultrasonic homogenizer, which breaks down the CBD oil molecule to Nano-sized particles.

Because we choose to use the spray drying process, our water-soluble product does not have a particle size. The result is a full, wholesome solution that will not sloppily separate once present in your cup of coffee; you will not see large particles floating around in your beverage. This also increases the bioavailability of the product significantly.

On top of all this, rigorous testing is performed in-house and also verified through independent, third-party labs using HPLC analysis. All batches are tested to meet the highest quality and potency standards. This ensures consistency and purity of terpenes, essential fatty acids, and phyto-nutrients.

Note: The CBD mixture includes the following processing ingredients: Maltodextrin, Gum Arabica, Sucrose Ester, Lecithin
